Homemade Fruit Preserves - Recipes for Jams, Juices, and Marmalades
Summer is a time when our gardens and orchards are abundant with fresh fruits. It is the perfect opportunity to preserve the taste of summer for longer by making homemade fruit preserves. Homemade jams, juices, and marmalades are not only delicious additions to breakfasts and desserts but also a healthy alternative to store-bought products full of preservatives and artificial additives. In this article, we present a few simple recipes for homemade fruit preserves.
Peach Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
1 kg peaches
500 g sugar
juice of one lemon
Preparation:
Wash the peaches, remove the pits, and cut into smaller pieces. Place the peaches in a pot, add sugar and lemon juice. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruits break down and the mixture thickens (about 30-40 minutes). Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal, and turn upside down. Leave to cool.
Raspberry Juice Recipe
Ingredients:
1 kg raspberries
300 g sugar
1 liter water
Preparation:
Wash the raspberries and put them in a pot. Add water and cook on medium heat until the raspberries release their juice (about 15-20 minutes). Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the seeds. Pour the juice back into the pot, add sugar, and cook for another 10 minutes. Pour the hot juice into sterilized bottles, seal, and leave to cool.
Apricot Marmalade Recipe
Ingredients:
1 kg apricots
500 g sugar
juice of one lemon
Preparation:
Wash the apricots, remove the pits, and cut into quarters. Place the apricots in a pot, add sugar and lemon juice. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruits become translucent and a thick syrup forms (about 40-50 minutes). Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jars, seal, and turn upside down. Leave to cool.
