Braised Beef Stew with Potatoes, Carrots, and Onions: Recipe for a Delicious Feast

Today, I'll share a recipe for braised beef stew with potatoes, carrots, and onions that will surely win the hearts of all household members.

Ingredients:

500 g beef (preferably chuck or shoulder)

4 medium potatoes

3 carrots

2 large onions

3 garlic cloves

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 liter beef or vegetable broth

2 bay leaves

1 teaspoon thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Preparation:

Prepare the Meat:

Wash and dry the beef thoroughly. Cut it into cubes about 2-3 cm in size. Heat the oil in a large pot and add the meat. Fry on high heat until browned on all sides.

Add the Vegetables:

Slice the onions, finely chop the garlic, cut the carrots into slices, and the potatoes into cubes. Add the onions and garlic to the browned meat and fry for about 5 minutes until the onions are translucent.

Braising:

Add the carrots, potatoes, and tomato paste to the pot. Mix everything well and fry for another 5 minutes. Then add the broth, bay leaves, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper.

Cooking:

Reduce the heat, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer on low heat for about 1.5 hours, until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked. If necessary, add some water or broth during braising to prevent the stew from becoming too thick.
